October 15 – 19
Last week was very exciting for our class. All 7 of our Monarch larvae went into their chrysalis and came out in our habitat as beautiful butterflies.We released them on Wednesday. We are all hoping that they make it to Mexico in time for the Monarch Festival.
Our new unit will be Geography. We will be looking at maps and making some maps of our own.
Our new reading story is Mr. Putter and Tabby Fly a Plane. We will be working on sequencing along with plural nouns. Our vocabulary words are crane, twitch,worry, directions, and promise.
Our spelling words are words with ou and ow. They are now, sound, out, mouth, cloud, town, clown, found, outside, crowd, around, and mouse.
In math we have learned 3 math games that the students can share with you at home. Ask your child to show you how to play Go Fish 10, the Memory game and Add 1 or 2 Bingo. I hope you will be able to come to our Family Math night ,October 22nd from 6:30 to 8, where we will be sharing with the parents our math games.
