December 10 – 14
Well it is December the month that puts stress in capital letters.
This week we are reading the story, What makes Day and Night. We will be going to the planetarium at McCullough on Wednesday the 12th. While we are there we will be looking at the night sky and investigating the constellations we can see in the winter months. Please return the permission slip so that everyone can attend. There is no charge for this trip but I need your permission to take your child.
This weeks Spelling words are phone, laugh, elephant, telegraph, photo, phrase, graph, rough, enough, photograph, telephone, and tough.
Our Vocabulary words are spin, experiment, toward, motion, imagine, and photograph.
In math, we have been investigation rectangles, sides,angles-corners. We are also making arrays to show different ways to make number problems. This is a first step into understanding multiplication.
On Monday we will be starting our Science unit on Balance and Weighing.
Last Thursday I sent home mid-term reports. There is still 4 more weeks to the marking period so that all the students have time to improve their grades.
I am well aware of how stressful this time of year can be. If something comes up and work can not get done just let me know with a note in the planner and all will be right with the world.
